Serving at mass is a way of taking up our baptismal call to serve Christ and His Church. When we carry out our ministries with reverence and mindfulness, it brings us and those we worship with closer to God.
What We Do
Crucifers carry the processional crucifix in the entrance procession and during the recessional procession during weekend mass. Crucifers are scheduled with the other liturgical ministries seasonally using Ministry Scheduler Pro. Parishioners who are able to carry 45 pounds are welcome to be part of this ministry.
Altar servers assist the pastor during Mass at the altar by holding books, accepting the gifts, and preparing the altar for the Eucharist. Altar servers are scheduled with the other liturgical ministers seasonally using Ministry Scheduler Pro. Parishioners in fourth grade or older may serve as altar servers. Adults and college students home on break are welcome to serve in this ministry. Training is provided for any interested in serving in this ministry.
