** NOTE: Requirements for all those desiring to work with our youth and vulnerable adults include :1) Completing online training at www.VIRTUSONLINE.org per the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) guidelines, 2) signing a Code of Conduct agreement , and 3) completing a criminal background check.  All training, documents, and information are provided.

Meets monthly – Offer input, support, guidance and direction for how we live our call of pastoral care to our parishioners.
 
Growing through Loss
Growing Through Loss (GTL) provides support for adults who have experienced loss, information about the grieving process, caring and support from others who are also grieving
and sharing of memories and feelings in a confidential setting.

GTL supports loss of spouse, child, parent, other loved ones, loss through suicide, life transitions such as the loss of job, health, relationships or mid-life changes, multiple losses and provides small group and one-on-one support.

GTL is sponsored jointly by The Interdenominational South Suburban Grief Support Coalition, a coalition of 16 churches in the south suburban Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
The Church of St. Patrick is an active member and supporting GTL.

All sessions meet from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Mary Mother of the Church located at 333 Cliff Road East, Burnsville MN 55337

Evening agenda:
Registration, 6:30 p.m.;  Speaker, 7:00 p.m.;  Support Groups 8:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Suggested donation: $4.00 per session. All proceeds support the Growing Through Loss ministry.​

Blood Pressure Checks
Monthly – 1–1½  hours
Medical personnel provide blood pressure checks the last weekend of every month after Masses and at 55+ monthly luncheons.  

Funeral – Coordinator
4 hours/funeral – commitment is variable and on as needed basis – typically every 4-6 weeks Phone call, organize, and solicit volunteers to prepare funeral luncheon meals and serve at luncheons.  Also, purchase food and bring to church. 
 
Funeral – Dessert Bakers
Time commitment is your discretion – on as needed basis – typically every 4-6 weeks Prepare bars, cookies, and/or cakes (homemade or store-bought) and drop-off at church for funeral luncheons.

Funeral Volunteers
2-4 hours - commitment is variable and on as needed basis –
 typically every 4-6 weeks
Preparers: Cook and prepare luncheon meal in the church kitchen.
Lunch Servers: Prepare dining room tables and buffet for funeral luncheons.  Assist serving meal to funeral attendees.
Clean-Up Crew: Clean-up dining hall and kitchen, pack left-over food for family to take home, clean tables, etc.
  

Home Eucharistic Minister
Weekly - typically 30 minutes – 1 hour
 Provide Communion and a brief “Mass-like” service for those unable to attend Mass.  Schedule is arranged between the Eucharistic Minister and homebound person. Must be a trained Eucharistic Minister.  **
 
Journey through Loss Facilitator
Schedules varies – see church website or bulletin
Coordinates and facilitates support group for those who have experienced loss of a loved one. **
 
Parish Nurse
Yearly – 4-5 hours
Attends to the medical needs of the parish. Coordinates annual health fair. 
 
Prayer Shawl / Chemo Capv Ministry
Commitment is completely at your discretion and availability
Knit or crochet a prayer shawl or chemo cap to be blessed and given to a fellow parishioner or their family in need of prayers. Must know how to knit/crochet.  Patterns provided upon request. 
 
Senior Care Ministry
3 times/month - Thursdays, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Assist providing Scripture and Communion services for parish seniors living at long-term care facilities in Inver Grove Heights.  **
